the mundane task of grocery shopping over the weekend made me think of this..
if everyone exercised the same caution, same diligence, same attentiveness, same perfection, same amount of time in everything they do, as much as they do in okra picking, this world will be a perfect place…. I am just sayin, in my humble opinion.
Can never ever let Jan 26th go by without thinking and thanking the 2 docs that made me throw away my glasses…Days when laser surgery was at its infancy, and people shivering at the thought of letting someone touch their eyes for something like 20/20 vision, I was brave.
Seems commonplace today, but 15 yrs ago, it was a miracle…

when I was growing up, all I had to do was study, study and study- save a couple of yrs of futile attempts in learning to play the guitar. and dabbling in carnatic music lessons after college. I am sure this must be the case for most of my generation men and women.
Fast forward to now or even a generation ago. The kids are quite adept in muti-tasking. They learn to play musical instruments, learn ballet or bharatnatyam, do taekwondo or karate, not to mention the frantic efforts to learn the mother-tongue during weekend classes, school varity shows, projects, to mention a few., while maintaining good grades
I am in awe of this generation of kids, that do this either out of their own will or because of being raised by tiger moms and dads(ahem)….
I am sure the world is in good hands, in the future. If the kids can handle this, they can handle anything!!!!!
This post to showcase how strong some parents are. The doctor had told the then young parents of a 3 month old baby, “Your daughter might not walk at all”. As I parent, god forbid if I heard those words, I would have had a heart attack at an impossible child-bearing age.. The rock-solid parents heard that, digested that, conquered that and the kid has reached a state in life that other normal children have or even more.
They seem to rise high in stature to me, when I see parents (including myself) create a drama fitting a reality tv series, when our kids so much as get a viral infection.
I begin this blog with a salute to the 2 people in my life, without whom, there is no life
